Easter Day (or Bunny Day) in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Posted by Nathan on April 2, 2013 at 12:40 PM

It was Easter Day around the world recently and there’s an event in Animal Crossing: New Leaf to celebrate it! It was known as Bunny Day in City Folk and it may be called that again in the English versions of New Leaf. All of the details are below:

Just like in the real world, Easter doesn’t always occur on the same day and can vary every year. This year, it was March 31st, but in 2014 it will occur on April 20th! The event stars everyone’s favourite Zipper T. Bunny, although the dialogue in City Folk implies they are someone else under a suit. Who? Nobody knows!

This may come as a surprise to you but on Easter Day, you collect Easter Eggs! They’re hidden all around your town in unique ways.

Ground Egg – Buried in holes around your town, just dig them up with your shovel!

Tree Egg – Hidden in non-fruit trees around your town, just shake them!

Rock Egg – Inside rocks around your town, just break them with your shovel!

Flying Egg – Packaged in flying presents over your town, just shoot them down with your slingshot!

Fish Egg – Floating in the water looking like a fish, just fish them out with your fishing rod!

Diving Egg – Deep under the sea, just dive to them in the ocean with a diving suit!

The first thing you will want to do is collect one of each type of Easter Egg to give to Zipper T. Bunny. When you do that, he will give you an Easter Egg Basket furniture item. After that, just collect whichever eggs you want and eat them to reveal either a piece of candy (save it for Halloween), a Bunny Foil, or a Grand Prize Bunny Foil.

Candy – You can eat if you want right now but saving it for Halloween might be a wiser choice!

Bunny Foil – Trade this regular foil to Zipper T. Bunny and he will reward you with an Egg Series item!

Grand Prize Bunny Foil – Trade this grand prize foil to Zipper T. Bunny and he will reward you with a photo of himself!

That’s pretty much the holiday. After you collect all of the Egg Series, you may want to just keep hunting for candy to save for Halloween. Up to you really!

What do you think of the Egg Series and this holiday? Will you try to get the entire series? Let us know in the comments below. I like it, but it’s not my favourite series by any means.
